On 17 April 2020, at the Green Trade Company of the Ministry of Commerce, Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF) and Green Trade company has welcomed and met with Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste Ambassador in Cambodia discussing about the possibility of trading Cambodian rice to the Timor-Leste, responded to the request from Timor-Leste to prevent rice shortage amid the COVID19 outbreak.

In March 2020, Cambodia export rice in the total amount of 94,449 tonnes, increased by 10% comparing to February 2020. Comparing of March 2020 to March 2019, the export is increased noticeably by 62%, generating in the amount of increasing from 58,335 tonnes in March 2019 to 94,449 tonnes in March 2020. (Full summary report)

 Once again, Cambodia Rice Federation and Green Trade Company of the Ministry Commerce would like to inform that as of 16 March 2020, about 80% of paddy is harvested, accounted for 2.3 millions tonnes, which is enough for milling to supply in the overall Cambodia.

As recent COVID19 outbreak, Cambodian people may have some worried on the shortage of food supply, in which the rice is the main focus.

On 12th March 2020, Oknha. Chan Sokkheang, Acting President of Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF), welcomed the new appointed Mr. Yasuhisa Ojima, Resident Representative for Cambodia, IMF,  responds to the request from IMF to introduce and to exchange view of Cambodia economy,

On 11 March 2020, at the meeting hall of Rural Development Bank (RDB), there was a discussion meeting between RDB, leaded by H.E Kao Thach, Director of RDB, and CRF , leads by Oknha. Song Saran, President of CRF, on some problems regarding the loan package and especially the request on delaying the deadline of returning loan.
